PARIS: Hotel le 123 Sebastopol

PARIS HOTEL SPOTLIGHT: Hotel le 123 Sebastopol

Lights, Camera, Action!

Welcome to Hotel le 123 Sebastopol.

This Paris hotel spotlight on Hotel le 123 Sebastopol about a boutique hotel, warm with fun character and a refreshing change from your typical hotel. The hotel has a French Cinema theme that is playful and no piece of decor or furniture has been overlooked when putting this hotel together. Everything is pristine and brand new, as it is a new hotel.  The location is excellent and in walking distance to all that the ever popular Marais has to offer.  I know it is one of my favorite areas of Paris. There are two metro stops also close-by which puts you in easy reach of the rest of the city too.  I don’t think the hotel staff could be any friendlier or attentive.  Even when our room wasn’t ready during check in, they made sure we were taken care of and that our luggage was immediately taken off our hands.

Things to know before you go:

  • This hotel is a 4 star hotel on a busy street. Location is fantastic and steps away from the quaint, bustling streets of the Marais.
  • This hotel is themed, so if entertaining a funky, modern vibe is not your thing, stay elsewhere.
  • This hotel is not inexpensive…however… high speed Wifi, in-room mini fridge beverages and snacks in their little cafe are all complimentary! Ho-rah for no nickle and dimming.
  • If you have ever stayed at (and loved) Kimpton Hotel properties in the USA, this will be right up your alley. Boutique, fun, and friendly.  But also comes at a higher price point.
  • I believe the friendliest hotel staff in Paris work here.
  • There is a small gym, quiet outdoor terrace, elevators to all 6 floors, places to tuck away and have a glass of wine and a cinema (imagine that?) on this property.
  • It is a new hotel so there are some small bugs to work out.
  • There is no airport shuttle or parking on site but this is typical of most hotels in Paris. The staff will happily arrange transportation as needed if you wish. But like I’ve said before, the metro is just a few steps away.

AMBIANCE & AMENITIES +++ The ambiance of this hotel’s theme is fun, glamorous and modern. It is the perfect mix of modern elements and old charm.  The exposed brick spiral staircases are lined with red carpets and gilded nail-heads, enhancing the fun theme of old French cinema with a modern twist…all while making you feel like a movie star guest!  A small gym is on site and the added complimentary extras such as Wifi and delicious snacks & beverages make this hotel experience a delightful stay.

FOOD & BEVERAGE  + There is no restaurant at this hotel but you are in walking distance to plenty.  However they do offer a traditional Parisian breakfast and snacks for a quick bite or grab & go. There are complimentary sweet & savory snacks and beverages down in the cafe area as well as in your room, so you will never be thirsty or hungry.

ROOMS +++ Rooms are well appointed with large, comfortably firm beds, ipod chargers, tv and big clean bathrooms.  All of the rooms have some sort of fun cinematic theme. Friendly housekeepers and turn-down service is an added plus. Robes and slippers are also waiting for you upon arrival.  The hotel rooms lack an abundance of pillows, but should you need more, they are available at the front desk.  Room keys were tricky, which was only a minor set back.

Hotel Best for: Business travel, quiet hideaway for 2, honeymoon, girls/guys trip, family vacation to Paris
