LONDON: HOTEL INDIGO

HOTEL SPOTLIGHT: HOTEL INDIGO LONDON EARLS COURT

This boutique style Kensington hotel encompasses the charm of it’s neighborhood yet puts you close enough to the London’s busy pulse.  You are in easy walking distance to Earl’s Court underground and steps away from the bustling main thoroughfare filled with great restaurants and pub life.

Hotel Indigo London Earls Court is managed by the IHG (Intercontinental hotel group) so for those of you that enjoy being in their Priority Club will be able to take advantage of staying in a boutique style hotel with the perks of a top notch international hotel chain.

Things to know before you go:

  • Location is superb. Nestled into the Barkstons Garden neighborhood, you will find yourself on a quiet residential street but steps away from the hustle and bustle of local eateries nearby.
  • Complimentary Wifi and mini bar treats are a plus!
  • Rooms are on the smaller side but are smartly appointed with everything you need, including some added luxuries such as USB ports, heated bathroom mirrors and cozy robes.
  • Boutique hotel, so no meeting space but you can enjoy bigger hotel amenities such as a fitness facility and short late night room service menu.
  • You are not right in city center so if you are here and want access to the Tower Bridge, Westminster and other such sites, you will be a 15-20 tube ride away.  So if tourist activities are why you are visiting, you might consider a couple nights closer to city center for those days.
  • Staff were very genuine and helpful in suggesting good local eats as well as assisting with transportation needs.

AMBIANCE & AMENITIES +++ The ambiance of this hotel is a modernized version of the hotel that once stood there.  They have done a great job in preserving things that should be remembered but updating the space to make it appeal to the more trendy traveler. Because of this I recommend this hotel for almost anyone coming to London.  There is a little something for everyone here, from the business traveler to those traveling with friends or family. However it might be a tight squeeze for any wheelchair access needed. Everything about this hotel is on the smaller side.

FOOD & BEVERAGE  +++ There is a restaurant on site available for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks.  Same modern design, good cocktails and good food.  there are also plenty of other eateries from fast food, pubs to sit down restaurants that are just steps away.

ROOMS +++ Rooms are well appointed with large, comfortably firm beds.  The bed is the highest bed I’ve seen at a hotel, which was different.  Felt more like a bedroom in someone’s home more than a hotel room. Each room is creatively designed and the artwork and furniture were fun. Up-to-date room amenities such as ipod chargers, tv and big clean bathrooms including a spa shower.  Housekeeping was always on time and my mini fridge was always stocked with chilled beverages and treats.

Hotel Best for: Business travel, quiet hideaway for 2, honeymoon, girls/guys trip, family vacation to London
